Dr Angela McInerney is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist working at University Hospital Galway on the west coast of Ireland. She completed her fellowship in both coronary and structural intervention at Hospital Clinico San Carlos in Madrid from 2018-2022. Her special interests are in Complex PCI, intracoronary imaging, calcium modification techniques and coronary physiology as well as TAVI and mitral and tricuspide transcatheter interventions. She has undertaken research both in the coronary and structural field, specifically pertaining to intracoronary lithotripsy, TAVI in patients with morbid obesity and antithrombotic regimes following percutaneous LAA closure. She is currently enrolled in a PhD programme at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She received the Young Investigator Award at the Irish Cardiac Society meeting in 2020.
