Ileana L. Piña, MD, MPH, FACC, FAHA is a heart failure / transplantation Cardiologist. She serves as an Senior Staff Fellow and Medical Officer to the FDA’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health. In January 2022, Dr. Piña joined the faculty of Thomas Jefferson University as Quality Chief for the CV Line. Dr. Piña is internationally recognized for her research in rehabilitation of heart failure patients. She is the author of over 300 publications in print, a world-renowned speaker on this subject. A volunteer for the American Heart Association, Dr Piña has been past Chair of the Council on Cinical Cardiology, a member of Get With the Guidelines. More recently, she was elected to the Publication Committee for the American Heart Association. In 2022, Dr. Piña received the Healy Award for Women's Heart Research from the ACC and in 2023, the AHA's Award of Meritorious Achievement for the HIgh School program at Sessions.
