Michael R. Mooney, MD, is a researcher and interventional cardiologist. Dr. Mooney's research interests include therapeutic hypothermia, ECMO, cardiogenic shock, new devices, left atrial appendage occlusion, PFO closure, and stroke prevention, and percutaneous aortic valve replacement. He is Director of Coronary Therapeutics at the Minneapolis Heart Institute®, Abbott Northwestern Hospital.
Dr. Mooney has published more than 100 manuscripts and abstracts on Interventional Cardiology. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota and trains Fellows in Interventional Cardiology. Dr. Mooney is on National Steering committees, Advisory Boards and the Advisory Committee for the AHA Mission: Lifeline Model Evaluation Task Force. Dr. Mooney speaks globally to help physicians initiate therapeutic hypothermia and cardiac arrest programs and STEMI networks.
