Dr. Ion S. Jovin, is an interventional cardiologist with over 15 years of experience. He is also Professor of Medicine at VCU Pauley Heart Center and Deputy Chief of Cardiolgy as well as Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories at CVHS Veterans' Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), both in Richmond, VA. He is also a former Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery/Cardiothoracic Surgery at Yale University, New Haven, CT.
Dr. Jovin’s research interests are in vascular biology, thrombosis and hemostasis, as well as coronary and peripheral interventions. Dr. Jovin is a reviewer for numerous professional journals and serves on the editorial board of several journals. He has authored or co-authored more than 100 articles, book chapters and abstracts. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and interventional cardiology.
