Dr. Bersin has a long history of basic and clinical research involvement. He was as a doctoral researcher at the World Health Organization in Lausanne, Switzerland and was a recipient of the Physician-Scientist Award of the National Institutes of Health, and of the National Center Research Award of the American Heart Association. He has authored more than eighty abstracts, book chapters and original articles, and has directed or participated in more than seventy clinical trials. He focused on endovascular therapies early in his career and is considered a pioneer in the development of endovascular interventions, including aortic endografs and carotid stenting. Dr. Bersin has also focused on structural heart interventions, particularly TAVR, and has been associated with the development of a number of novel interventional decices.
