Amir Lerman, M.D., is a consultant in Division of Ischemic Heart Disease and Critical Care, Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. Dr. Lerman also serves as director of the Cardiovascular Research Center; the Center for Coronary Physiology and Imaging; and the Chest Pain and Coronary Physiology Clinic. He joined the staff of Mayo Clinic in 1994 and holds the academic rank of professor of medicine, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. He is recognized with the distinction of the Barbara Woodward Lips Professorship.
Dr. Lerman’s clinical practice and research focus on coronary physiology and novel imaging, the role of the endothelium in regulating coronary vascular tone, and identification of the vulnerable plaque and patient.
