Dr. Mitul Patel is a former Clinical Professor in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of California San Diego and the San Diego VA who has recently transitioned his practice to Intermountain Health in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is an interventional cardiologist who focuses on complex and high risk coronary interventions including chronic total occlusion revascularization, HD support, and atherectomy. In addition, Dr. Patel performs balloon pulmonary angioplasty for patients with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension as well as complex peripheral vascular interventions. His main research interests are in the field of coronary and peripheral chronic total occlusions. He is involved in multiple clinical trials in these areas and has published numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts on these topics.
