Dr. Nils Johnson completed his undergraduate degree at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver; medical school at Columbia University in Manhattan; then moved to Northwestern University in Chicago for training in internal medicine, cardiology, and interventional cardiology; and earned a Master of Science degree in epidemiology and biostatistics from their Department of Preventive Medicine. His research with Dr. K. Lance Gould started in 1999 and focuses on cardiac PET perfusion imaging. During 2015-16 he spent a sabbatical emphasizing hemodynamic coronary physiology with Dr. Nico Pijls in Eindhoven, Netherlands. He has served as the principle investigator for international physiology trials like CONTRAST (NCT02184117) and DEFINE-FLOW (NCT02328820), and currently leads the PET core lab for the coronary sinus reducer trial COSIRA-II (NCT05102019).
