Manuela has a medical degree from Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Romania. After 9 years practicing medicine in Romania, she moved to the USA. She started the next chapter of her career in clinical research at the Washington Hospital Center (Washington, D.C.) working for the Cardiovascular Research Foundation.
Over the last 25+ years Manuela’s career has focused on clinical research, with her main interest in cardiovascular devices. She has vast experience in clinical trial design, team building and crisis management.
Manuela joined Medtronic in January 2006 and is now Vice President, Clinical Research & Medical Science within Medtronic’s Structural Heart & Aortic operating unit. In this role she is responsible for the organization’s global clinical research and medical science strategy and execution, overseeing a diverse portfolio of cardiovascular therapies.
