Dr. Rafael Cavalcante is an interventional cardiologist with a PhD in Cardiovascular Science from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, and a post-doctoral research fellowship from the Erasmus University Rotterdam, The Netherlands. He practiced Cardiology for 12 years in Brazil before joining Boston Scientific. His current role is Vice President of Global Medical Affairs for the Interventional Cardiology Division, responsible for Clinical Research and Medical Education in Coronary Therapies and Structural Heart Disease. He is also Chairman of the Investigator Sponsored Research Committee for BSC. Dr. Cavalcante maintains an affiliation to the University of Sao Paulo as faculty on the Cardiology PhD Program.
