Professor Robert-Jan Matthijs van Geuns, MD, PhD, FACC, FESC started his medical training at the University of Leiden. After gradation he started his research in non-invasive coronary imaging and completed this with a PhD degree in 2000. Prof. van Geuns was trained in Interventional Cardiology by Prof. Patrick Serruys at the Thoraxcenter, Erasmus University Medical Center, Rotterdam.
Prof. van Geuns was appointed associate professor in 2010 covering research in non-invasive cardiac imaging and percutaneous coronary interventions. He was clinical director of the cardiac intervention lab from 2011 to 2013. As of June 2014 he is Professor of Interventional Cardiology at the Erasmus University with a special focus on the percutaneous treatment of coronary artery disease. Since September 2018 he is affiliated with the RadboudUMC in Nijmegen, The Netherlands as Professor of Interventional Cardiology
