Dr. Deniz Mutlu has joined the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation, Center for Coronary Artery Disease as a Senior Research Scholar, working under the mentorship of Emmanouil Brilakis, MD, PhD. Originally from Istanbul, Turkey, Dr. Mutlu earned his MD from Acibadem University, graduating as valedictorian. He completed his cardiology fellowship at Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa, Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine. Dr. Mutlu specializes in interventional cardiology, and main research is focusing on the development of gold-standard treatment methods for complex coronary artery diseases, particularly coronary bifurcation and chronic total occlusion percutaneous coronary interventions. He is deeply passionate about intravascular imaging and the physiological evaluation of coronary artery diseases.
