Dr. Sabahat Bokhari is a Professor in the Cardiology Division in the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He is a Director of Amyloid Center and Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Center, Director of Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging, Program Director of Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Fellowship at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
He is a non-interventional cardiologist with with over 25 years of experience in this field. His main interest is cardiac amyloidosis and cardiovascular imaging. He has performed a series of studies in this area and has conducted many clinical trials. He developed the non-invasive PYP nuclear imaging method for diagnosing cardiac amyloidosis. He has authored over 115 papers, over 120 abstracts and has written multiple book chapters. Recently he was appointed by Governor Murphy to New Jersey Advisory Council for a three years term.
