Director Coronary Intervention and CTO PCI Program
Massachusetts General Hospital / Harvard Medical School
Boston, Massachusetts, United States
Dr. Jaffer is Director of Coronary Intervention and of the CTO PCI program at Massachusetts General Hospital, and an Associate Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School. Dr. Jaffer focuses on CTO and CHIP PCI, utilizing advanced methods including E-CART, bi-radial, mechanical support, zero contrast, and first-in-US experience of real time CT-x-ray fusion to guide CTO PCI. He is the MGH PI for a number of clinical trials and is part of the International PROGRESS CTO PCI registry. His NIH-funded laboratory hass driven the field of molecular inflammation imaging of CAD. In DVT, his group has shown the importance of timely restoration of blood flow to reduce the post-thrombotic syndrome.
