John McB. Hodgson received his M.D. from the Dartmouth Medical School. He completed his fellowship training at the University of Michigan and Brown University. He is a tenured Professor at Case Western Reserve University. His field of specialization is invasive and interventional cardiology, particularly intravascular ultrasound, a technology he helped develop. He is also active in the fields of coronary physiology and Cardiac CTA.
He is Past President of the SCAI, and is a Fellow of the ACC, AHA and SCCT. He was elected to Master status with SCAI (MSCAI). He is a member of several ACCF/AHA/SCAI task forces and guideline writing committees. He serves as an editorial consultant for many cardiology journals and has published over 200 articles, book chapters and ward-winning web-based interactive teaching tools.
