Chip Hance is Chairman of the Medical Device Innovation Consortium (MDIC), the public-private partnership between FDA, Industry and others working on issues of regulatory science. Hance has also been the MDIC Board Champion for the Early Feasibility Clinical Trial Initiative for the last 5-6 years.
He has spent more than 35 years in the medical device industry, most recently as CEO of Regatta Medical, and before that, CEO of Creganna Medical, a leading technology provider to makers of minimally invasive medical devices.
In 2012-13, Hance was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at CDRH within the FDA. Prior to FDA, Hance was President of Abbott Vascular, the cardiovascular device division of Abbott.
Hance earned a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a master's degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
