Amar Krishnaswamy, MD, is Section Head of Invasive & Interventional Cardiology and he holds the T.V. Connelly Family Chair in Interventional Cardiology.
Dr. Krishnaswamy was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. He completed his undergraduate degree at Colgate University and received his medical degree at Yale University School of Medicine. He went on to Internal Medicine residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he also served as an Assistant Chief of Service upon completion of his training. He completed both General Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology fellowships at Cleveland Clinic after which he joined the staff. His clinical and research pursuits focus on structural heart disease interventions (including TAVR, PFO/ASD closure, left atrial appendage occlusion, paravalvular leak closure, and catheter mitral valve repair and replacement).
