Dr. Mitchell Krucoff is an interventional cardiologist, Professor of Medicine/Cardiology at Duke University Medical Center and Director of the Cardiovascular Devices Unit at the Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI). He is a special government employee of the United States FDA, receiving a Distinguished Service Award in 2007, and is the Co-Director of the Japan-USA Harmonization By Doing (HBD) program. He directs both the Critical Path Cardiac Safety Research Consortium PPP and the MDEpiNet PPP PASSION NEST Demonstration Programs. He has published more than 300 peer review papers in addition to numerous books and book chapters, and was the lead author of the National Medical Device Registry Task Force recommendations to FDA for a National Medical Device Evaluation System that is currently active as the National Evaluation System for health Technologies (NEST) coordinating center.
