Dr. Michael Dwyer is the Neuroinformatics Director at the Buffalo Neuroimaging Analysis and Associate Professor of Neurology at the State University of New York at Buffalo. His research focuses on developing and applying quantitative image analysis methods to neuroimaging data in order to better characterize the onset, progression, and treatment of neurological diseases and disorders. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles with more than 8800 citations in the neuroimaging field. Highlights of his work include methods for quantifying demyelination and remyelination in vivo and for measuring longitudinal tissue-specific atrophy. In the cardiac arena, his work focuses on neuroimaging of embolic harm and/or protection.
