Dr. Slack attended Medical School at the Uniformed Services U. of the Health Sciences in Bethesda Maryland. After Residency in Pediatrics at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, he completed Pediatric Cardiology and Pediatric Interventional Fellowships at Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine in 1992 under Dr. Charles Mullins. Dr. Slack is a full Professor at the University of Maryland. Dr. Slack has trained numerous Pediatric Interventional Cardiologists and Adult Cardiologists in Congenital Heart Disease and Congenital/Structural Interventional Catheterization. He is currently the Senior Interventional Pediatric/Congenital Cardiologist at the University of Maryland Heart Program and the Co-Founder & Co-Director of the Adult Congenital/Structural Interventional Cardiac Catheterization program at the MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.
